Age screening at signup: what Seldeo does and does not verify

Correction, 30 October 2026: Earlier versions of this article described age verification vendors, risk signals, identity checks, parental review, appeals, and response targets that are not part of Seldeo's current signup flow. Those claims should not be relied on.

What signup asks for

Signup asks a person to enter their date of birth and applies the age threshold for their selected region. Australia remains available with a 16+ threshold. In other regions, the signup flow applies the configured local minimum.

This is a self-entered DOB screen. Seldeo does not claim that DOB screening independently verifies a person's age, is certified age assurance, or by itself satisfies every legal age-assurance duty. No third-party age-verification vendor, government-ID check, selfie estimation, or parental verification workflow is represented here.

What we do not promise

We do not claim a verified-age badge, age-verified audience controls, an age-check appeal workflow, or a particular turnaround time for age-related support. If your account information is incorrect or you have an age-related concern, contact privacy@seldeo.com. Staff may review the request; this contact is not a promise of an account-verification service.

Content rules are separate from DOB screening

Seldeo's content rules prohibit sexual nudity, pornography, and extreme graphic violence. Ordinary non-graphic educational, documentary, medical, and artistic material may be allowed for people meeting the local signup minimum. Media the scanner flags may be hidden after publication for staff review. Images and thumbnails use Vision; longer videos receive only a middle-ten-second sample check. These background checks can miss material, and content can be visible before detection. Seldeo does not provide verified-age access to mature material.
