Editorial policy
Who publishes seldeo.com
seldeo.com is published by Seldeo, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal office in North Carolina, United States. The site is the public face of the Seldeo mobile app — a smaller, calmer social network for the people who actually matter to you.
Everything published on seldeo.com — product news, help articles, safety guidance, engineering notes, careers listings, and legal pages — is written by named humans on the Seldeo team. We do not run auto-generated content, spun content, or unsupervised machine-generated articles.
What we publish
seldeo.com is organised around six editorial surfaces:
- News — product announcements, engineering notes, and posts about how we think about specific features. These are the closest thing we have to a blog. Every article carries an author byline and a publication date. When an article is materially updated after publication, we add an "Updated" line and describe the change at the end of the post.
- Help Center — how-to articles that explain how the Seldeo app works. These are living documents; each article is reviewed for accuracy against the current app build at least once per calendar quarter, and the "Updated" line reflects the most recent substantive review.
- Safety and Community Guidelines — the public-facing summary of the policies our Trust & Safety team enforces inside the app. Substantive changes to these pages are announced in News with a human-readable diff of what changed.
- Transparency — the landing page for our semi-annual transparency report, which discloses aggregate numbers on content removals, law-enforcement requests, and appeals.
- Careers — open roles at Seldeo. These are written by our recruiting lead and approved by the hiring manager before publication.
- Legal — our Privacy Policy, Terms
of Use, Cookie Policy, and DMCA process. These are drafted by
outside counsel and reviewed internally before every version
bump. Superseded versions stay online at a versioned URL
(
/legal/privacy/v1,/legal/terms/v1, …) so readers can always see what was in force at a given point in time.
How we source content
Our editorial writing draws on three sources:
- Direct product knowledge. Most posts about how Seldeo works are written by the engineers, designers, or product managers who built the feature. When they are not the author, the piece is reviewed by at least one person who was.
- Internal reference material. The public help articles are derived from the same runbooks and product specifications that our Trust & Safety and support teams use internally. Public articles are always a strict subset of what our staff can see, never a superset.
- External standards and law. Privacy and safety writing references named laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, the EU Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act, Play Store Data Safety requirements, Apple App Review Guideline 5.1.1). We cite the article or paragraph number where doing so improves clarity.
We do not paraphrase third-party sources without attribution, and we do not publish content that we did not write ourselves.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and disclose the fix on the page:
- Typographical fixes (a misspelled word, a broken link, a wrong date on a metadata line) are made silently.
- Factual corrections — anything that changes the meaning of
a sentence — get a dated correction note appended to the article
and, on News articles, an updated
updated:date. - Retractions are rare but real. If we decide an article should no longer stand, we replace the body with a short note explaining what was retracted and why, and leave the URL live. We do not delete corrected content from history.
To request a correction, email corrections@seldeo.com with the URL and the specific sentence you believe is wrong. We aim to respond within five business days.
Sponsored and paid content
We do not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, guest posts, affiliate links, or link exchanges on seldeo.com. Nothing on the site is written to promote a third-party brand, product, or service in exchange for payment or consideration.
If we ever introduce sponsored content in the future — for example, an "advertorial" section — it will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" at the top of every affected page, and this policy will be updated to describe the labelling and the review process before any sponsored content goes live.
Seldeo's mobile app does carry advertising via Google IMA, Google AdMob (native), and Google Ad Manager. Those ads run inside the app, not on this website. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle personalisation, non-personalised fallbacks, and regional consent (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, ATT).
AI-generated content
We use AI tools internally for drafting, summarisation, and code support, in the same way most engineering teams do in 2026. Nothing on seldeo.com — News, Help, Safety, or Legal — is published without a human author reading, editing, and taking responsibility for the final text. The byline on every article is the human accountable for its contents.
