Seldeo provides privacy and account controls, an in-app contextual report sheet, and a safety email for reporting concerns. This page explains those tools and where to get help in a crisis.
Your safety tools
The controls you need to shape your experience live one tap away on every screen.
Choose your audience before you share
Every post, story, and message shows you the audience before you publish. Share with your close friends, with a specific circle, with all your followers, or publicly — you always see the audience for a piece of content before it goes out, and you can change it later.
Exclude specific viewers
You can exclude specific people from seeing individual posts or stories, without blocking them or muting them. Useful when you want to share something with everyone-but-one.
Block
Blocking is total and instant:
- The blocked user cannot see any of your content, including posts you have already shared with public audiences.
- They cannot call you, message you, or add you to a group.
- They cannot find your profile in search.
- Neither party is notified when a block is placed.
If someone finds a way to reach you after you block them — a new account, a screenshot leak, a third-party leak — email safety@seldeo.com.
Mute
If you want a quieter feed without cutting ties, mute a person or a topic. Muted content is hidden from your feed but you and the other person can still interact if you choose to. You can unmute at any time.
Reporting
Use the Report action in the contextual menu for the content or account, select a reason, add optional context, and submit the in-app report sheet. Do not include passwords, passkeys, recovery codes, or other account credentials. Do not copy or attach suspected illegal material.
You can also contact safety@seldeo.com if you cannot access the in-app sheet or need to provide additional context. Reports are recorded and generate an email alert for human staff action. Seldeo does not provide a moderator web console or promise a response time, outcome notification, or in-app appeal flow.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. This email contact is not an emergency service.
Age and teen safety
Australia is available. Signup applies a 16+ screening rule for Australia using the date of birth a person enters. Other regional minimums are determined by the signup flow and applicable local requirements. This DOB screening is not certified age verification and does not establish that all age-assurance obligations are met. Legal and operational review remains necessary.
- Signup applies the age threshold configured for the region; this is self-entered DOB screening, not certified age verification.
- For accounts under 18 or whose age is not known, global discovery, phone-based discovery, and contact suggestions are off by default. Adults have global discovery on by default. Under-18 users can opt in to global discovery using the optional toggle in the first-feed sheet. Phone-based discovery has a separate opt-in in Privacy settings; enabling global discovery does not turn it on.
- Direct messages from strangers are blocked by default on teen accounts.
- The default posting audience for teen accounts is friends-only.
Child safety
Seldeo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material.
- Use the in-app report sheet or contact safety@seldeo.com for human staff action. We do not claim a particular automated detection or hash-matching system is in operation.
- Any legal reporting and preservation duties must be assessed and carried out by the responsible safety and legal contacts.
- We may remove content and permanently suspend accounts that violate child-safety rules, subject to applicable reporting and preservation duties.
If you become aware of a child being harmed on or off Seldeo, contact your local emergency services first, then report the account to us.
Mental health and crisis resources
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (911 in the United States, 112 in the EU and UK, 100 in India, 999 in Bangladesh).
Regional crisis lines we surface inside the app (expanded to match countries in our locale/region map):
- United States and Canada — 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text)
- United Kingdom and Ireland — Samaritans, 116 123
- Australia — Lifeline, 13 11 14
- New Zealand — Need to Talk?, 1737 (call or text)
- India — iCall, +91 91529 87821
- Bangladesh — Kaan Pete Roi, +880 9612119911
- Singapore — Samaritans of Singapore, 1767
- Germany — TelefonSeelsorge, 0800 111 0 111 / 0800 111 0 222 / 116 123
- France — Suicide Ecoute / national prevention line, 3114
- Spain — Linea 024
- Netherlands — 113 Suicide Prevention, 0800-0113
- Brazil — CVV, 188
- Japan — TELL Lifeline, 03-5774-0992
- South Korea — Suicide and Mental Health Hotline, 1393
For countries in our current i18n region map where we have not yet pinned a single national line in-product (including Argentina, Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, South Africa, Sweden, and Norway), we route to local emergency numbers first and then to verified local services via findahelpline.com.
We do not staff a 24/7 crisis line. If you contact us during a mental-health emergency, we will route you to the appropriate regional resource, but a crisis line will reach trained help faster.
Data and privacy
Your safety and your privacy are the same problem seen from two angles. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. A few highlights that come up often in safety questions:
- We do not sell your data, and we do not build behavioural profiles for advertisers.
- When you use an AI feature, selected information and relevant context may be sent to Google Gemini as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not use the feature for content you are not comfortable having processed by an external AI service.
- You can download a copy of your data or delete your account from Settings → Privacy or Settings → Account.
