Pausing your account
Sometimes the right amount of Seldeo is none for a while — an exam season, a hard month, or just a break. Pause exists for exactly that. It takes you off the network without touching your data, and it reverses the moment you decide to come back.
What pausing does
While your account is paused:
- Your profile, posts, and friends list stay where they are. Nothing is deleted or unlinked.
- You disappear from the app. Your profile stops showing up in search and your posts and stories stop appearing to others.
- You can't take part. Posting, messaging, and calling are unavailable until you resume.
- You are signed out. Pausing ends your session on the device.
What it doesn't do: it doesn't notify anyone, it doesn't start any deletion countdown, and it doesn't change your username, friends, or settings.
Pause your account
- Go to Settings → Account → Pause account.
- Read the screen and tap Pause my account.
- Confirm on the Pause account? dialog. As it says: you will be signed out on this device, and you can sign back in any time to resume.
The app confirms with Account paused and signs you out.
Come back
- Open Seldeo and sign in with your passkey as usual.
- Instead of the app, you'll see a single choice: tap Resume my account.
- That's it — everything is exactly as you left it.
If you sign in and decide you're not ready, choose Sign out instead and the account stays paused.
Pause or delete?
| Pause | Delete | |
|---|---|---|
| Your data | Kept, untouched | Permanently erased after the 30-day window |
| Visibility to others | Hidden while paused | Gone |
| Reversible | Always — just resume | Only within the 30-day window |
| Right for | A break | Leaving for good |
If you're weighing the permanent option, read Deleting your Seldeo account first — it lists exactly what deletion removes and what the 30-day countdown looks like.
