Community Guidelines

Seldeo is a place to share your life — the big moments, the small ones, the ones in between — with the people who matter to you. That works when everyone acts like a guest in a friend's home: honest, considerate, and mindful of the people around them. These Community Guidelines describe the behaviour we expect and what happens when the line is crossed.

If you break these rules, we may remove your content, restrict features on your account, suspend it temporarily, or ban it permanently. Serious violations — child safety, terrorism, credible threats of violence, and non-consensual intimate imagery — result in an immediate permanent ban and, where required, a report to law enforcement.

Safety

Seldeo should never be a place where people are hurt, threatened, or endangered. You may not use Seldeo to:

• Threaten violence against a specific person, group, or place.
• Encourage or plan self-harm, or promote suicide as a coping strategy. Sharing honestly about your own experience is welcome and encouraged — see Safety for support resources.
• Endanger a child. Any sexualisation of a minor, grooming behaviour, or content that puts a child at physical risk results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to NCMEC where required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
• Coordinate real-world violence, including planning, celebrating, or providing operational support for it.
• Promote or facilitate illegal activity, including drug sales, weapons trafficking, human trafficking, exchange of stolen goods, credential theft, or malware distribution.

Respect for other people

Seldeo is a community. Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated.

• No harassment. Repeated unwanted contact, coordinated pile-ons, or targeting people because of who they are is not allowed.
• No hate speech. You may not attack people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or serious medical condition.
• No impersonation. Do not pretend to be a specific real person or organisation.
• No doxxing. Do not share private information (home address, workplace, personal phone number, government ID, medical records) about someone else without their consent.

Consent and intimate imagery

Consent is required for any intimate imagery.

• Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) — including images shared without the subject's consent or images depicting sexual violence — is banned and will be removed on report. We use perceptual hashing to prevent re-upload.
• Underage nudity is banned. No exceptions.
• Nudity between consenting adults is allowed only in appropriate contexts and never publicly by default. Content flagged as adult is gated behind opt-in age-appropriate audiences.

Authenticity and integrity

For Seldeo to be useful, what you see needs to be trustworthy.

• No spam — including bulk unsolicited DMs, scam messages, or artificial engagement.
• No fake-engagement services. Buying followers, likes, or comments is grounds for account restriction.
• No manipulated media presented as real when the manipulation would materially mislead viewers (for example, a deep-faked speech attributed to a real person). Clearly marked satire, parody, and creative editing are welcome.
• No misinformation about civic processes (voting, census, immigration status) that could cause real-world harm.

Intellectual property

Respect what belongs to others.

• Only post content you own or have permission to share.
• We honour DMCA takedowns. Counter-notice is available if you believe your content was removed in error.
• Music used in reels and stories comes from our licensed catalog (Soundstripe). Do not upload copyrighted music that is not in the catalog.

How we enforce

We use a combination of automated classifiers and human review. Every enforcement action includes:

• Notice — you are told which policy was violated and shown the content.
• Appeal — a one-tap appeal is available on every action except immediate permanent bans for child-safety violations.
• Escalation — a second reviewer looks at every appealed decision.

Repeat violations

We use a strike model. Serious violations skip the strike ladder entirely.

Every post, story, chat message, comment, and profile has a Report action one tap away. Our Safety page walks through how reports are triaged, our response-time targets, and what to expect after you send one.

Transparency

We publish a semi-annual Transparency Report with aggregate statistics on government requests, content-removal orders, and emergency disclosures. See our news feed for the most recent report.

Changes

We update these Guidelines as the platform evolves. Prior versions remain available at /community-guidelines/v1, /community-guidelines/v2, and so on. Substantive changes are announced in the news feed.
